If you are a resident of Maryland or Tampa, Fl, and belong to a non profit organization, we will conduct a FREE, yes FREE Pan Asian cooking class at your establishment for free. You may charge what you like for each person attending.
The menu will be homemade fried rice with bacon, egg, onion, peas and carrots, stir fry in a original wok. Along with that a stir fry Chinese vegetable dish. The more people invited the more money you can raise. Chef Woo Can feels that we are losing something when we go out to eat or we find an excuse not to cook just to avoid cooking all together.
Chef Woo Can believes if we learn how to cook healthy, and learn to shop wisely, our children will develop good healthy eating habits, so when they become adults, they'll eat the right way. Home cooking with no preservatives or additives, controlling the use of salt and sugar and eating in moderation is important. Corporate America wants us to go out to eat as much as we can. Selling good food that taste good and service with a smile. They (Corporate) want to have a restaurant in your local neighborhood across the country. The problem with Corporate Fast Food is they have shareholders that they must make happy by showing profit. What does that mean, control expenses. How do you control expenses? Well let's see, the most tender meat has the most flavor but is very expensive. But what if they can secure tough grades of meat which is much cheaper, tenderize it so its super tender give it some flavor (salt and sugar) and who knows what else they throw in, and use clever marketing to make it look tasty and delicious. They add cheese for everything to provide flavor especially on fish which is probably farm raised (you never add cheese to fish), fry anything that can be fried. The worse is vegetables, they boil the veggies until its soggy. No wonder no one like vegetables. Salt enhances flavor not overpower the flavor. We now eat out so much that our bodies are use to all that salt. Danger Danger High blood pressure. The drinks are extra sugary (diabetes) to balance a salty meal. The salads are just as bade. Iceberg lettuce, no nutritional value, sugary dressing, candied nuts, all bad You can make a healthy meal and salad using natural ingredients. You have to check out our blog on the "ultimate Stir frying" technique. It's a great video and so so cool! You might have to press the previous tab at the bottom a couple of times to get it but its worth it!
When I say eating fish, what do you think of, fried fish, baked fish or broiled fish. The sauce is tartar sauce, butter and lemon, fresh garlic.
We'll here we have steam fish Chinese style. You can use any white meat fillet mild flavor like Halibut, flounder, fluke, sea bass. Enjoy the flavor and let me know how it goes. Don't forget the ginger and scallion. www.chefwoocan or www.chefwoocanmaryland You may have heard of tofu and tempted to try it but you have no idea of how to prepare it. Tofu doesn't have flavor so the sauce is very important and for this dish, it hot and spicy sauce with some ground pork. You see Tofu is 100% protein.
The following video is presented and cooked by Cici Li . For vegetarians, just exclude the ground pork. www.chefwoocan.com and chefwoocanmaryland.com Here's Chef Woo Can's take on this concept. The premise is to alleviate all the preparation of cooking a healthy and nutritious meal. All the shopping is done for you, hard to get ingredients are obtained and everything is pre measure sent to you in a insulated container sent Fedex.
A couple of years ago another business leased space with cooking facilities and ingredients at the customer's disposal and all the customer has to do is cook the meal based on the recipes available Well, they are no longer in business. The point is pretty simple. With busy schedules affecting practically everyone, these companies don't get it. No matter how simplified they make the process of preparing a meal, people just don't like to cook. Period. The idea of having gourmet foods during the week?, using expensive ingredients?, shipping in a insulated box and sent overnight for freshness? Well for the short term, its a great idea but eventually costs will be a major factor. Eventually sending overnight shipment is passed down to you, exotic ingredients will probable be a passing fad and cooking it, s it worth all the cost? Your paying alot for ingredients, portion control, recipe, and sauces. Well, consider a personal chef (Chef Woo Can) for basic home cooking that's just as health, good value and delicious. It's the end of a long week and your in the mood to go out to eat. You pick your favorite restaurant or buffet and determined to relax with a nice glass of wine or a cold frosty beer. You know you'll have to wait for a table, some establishments offer roasted peanuts while your waiting. Somehow, feeding us peanuts will make us more patient? You step in the restaurant and its freakin a little warm. Where's the air conditioning? In my opinion is they provided some nice cold a/c, the wait wouldn't be so bad, but to wait 45 minutes and the sweat is starting to drip, you have to ask yourself, is my patience worth the meal or you feel like you put in a hard week and just want to be served like a king or queen. Your aware that the food on the menu is designed for a quick microwave cooking or deep fried. You make the decision to stay and wait, your wife gives that look, your kids are whining its too hot. Is it worth all this stress? Will it be a relaxed evening?
You finally get called and almost jump out of your seat with that hand held buzzer buzzing Aaaaah, a booth, waitress comes, asks if you want to start with drinks, You ask for a beer, or a margherita, menus given out, waitress attempts to give you her attention but you can see she probable has 3 other tables on her mind. We pretend to look at the menu but it always comes down to the same things that we like. Drinks come, beer is lukewarm, Margherita is a little diluted. you tell your waitress, she apologizes and gets a new round on the house. You order the regular, the blooming onion, deep fried, ton of salt and a creamy dipping sauce kids get the hot buns with a flavored cream cheese butter, beef kabob marinated in sugar and salt, tastes delicious, deep fried catfish with corn meal and kids got hamburger sliders. Side salads with iceberg lettuce (no nutritional value) with high calorie dressing and croutons. Everything was delicious but was it worth it, healthy? Now you may say yes despite the minor inconvenience of waiting, barely a/c, drinks lukewarm. NOW, consider this, a home cooked mean with the best ingredients, cooked for you in your home with the a/c blasting, no waiting and nutritious but delicious for half the price! Hire Chef Woo Can for your next dinner party for a delicious Pan Asian Gourmet meal. www.chefwoocan or wwwchefwoocanmaryland.com |
