Mission Barbeque Bel Air, MD I'll admit I know there are different kinds of barbeque. Yep, I was in Memphis, TN and had dry rub baby back ribs at the Rendezvous restaurant. That experience was fabulous, the dry rib didn't overtake the flavor of the pork. As a matter of fact it brought out the natural sweet flavor of the pork. On a business trip to Dallas, Texas I had their delicious brisket but that was many moons ago. So you see I'm not a barbeque expert. So, I decided to try the new Mission Barbeque in Bel Air, MD. The success is due in part that they are pro all branches of the military. My buddies had said that the place is ok but very commercialized. The menu board was not overly crowded and was easy to read. The organization knows what items sells. I've always been curious to try a good brisket, so I ordered the brisket and the cashier asked me Moist? and I said yes. I tried the Mac & Cheese and coleslaw for side orders. Well, my name was called and the layout of the food was perfect. Added some Kansas City vinegary sauce on the brisket. The brisket was so moist and tender. Perfect for me, coleslaw was delicious and mac and cheese was great too. Friends, a great lunch on a SAturday was just perfect!. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being excellent, I give Mission Barbeque a 10! What do you think? Chef Woo Can www.chefwoocan.com Margherita Pizza of Bel Air
Bel Air, MD My daughter had her last concert yesterday for Bel Air Middle taking place at Bel Air High School. She plays the flute and she did an excellent job making Mommy & Daddy proud. Well, it was time to catch a quick dinner and always she loves pizza. Who hs the best pizza and is local, well Margherita's pizza. We love this place. Tonight, in celebration of her fantastic performance (Daddy is damn proud of her). I decided to get a supreme pizza (everything on it). Usually when you get a pie with everything on it, it turns out to be mushy, and heavy BUT when we opened the pizza at home, I was pleasantly surprised that everything was fresh and presentable. With so many ingredients I was concerned that the crust would soak through but it didnt, I didn't find it difficult to pickup. Coming from New York, I grip the sides of the slice by the crust and fold it up and it was perfect. The taste was great, it was a perfect blend of sausage, peperoni, onions, peppers and black olives. Crust was perfect, the sauce was a balance of salty & sweet and so my family each had a slice and the remaining would be for lunch, but you know what, pizza is better the next day especially in the toaster oven. The crust was super crunchy. My rating for this place on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being excellent, I give Margheritas a 10. It was that good! So, try it if you have a chance!
