Since I am a Chef, I'd like to introduce you to some ingredients that you can feed your dog. A break from the action of the ordinary kibble or canned foods.
Remember, the foods i will introduce are to be given sparingly. Cooked Jasmine rice with cooked carrots and broccoli with a dash of chicken broth. Considered very healthy as a special Saturday night dinner special, give once in a blue moon but not alot Why, too much may cause indigestion and a drastic change in their normal foods may be a slight shock to their system but if its given gradually, it should be alright. ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR VETERINARIAN since every dog is different and may have allergy's. These days, its been raining and a fine time to spend quality time at home cuddled next to your doggie. They love it and to know your thinking about them constantly they do appreciate it. here are some recommendations that they will always appreciate from you.
HYDRATION: Drinking water will replace most electrolytes. Always replace your doggie's water every day with fresh refreshing tap water. CURB DESTRUCTIVE CHEWING: Try: BENGAY. To train your dog to stop chewing on a specific object, coat the object with a dab of Bengay. The smell will repel him. Try: White Vinegar + Apple Cider Vinegar. Mix 5 ounces of white vinegar, 5 ounces of apple cider vinegar, and 5 ounces of water in a 16-ounce trigger-spray bottle. Shake well. Spray the solution on whatever furniture your dog likes to chew. BUT, there might be an underlying problem causing his chewing tendency! ELIMINATE FLEAS: Try: Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. Fleas drive your doggie's up the wall, so we tend to buy the most toxic chemicals to kill them but sometimes the adverse affect of these chemicals affect our dogs! Use DAWN dishwashing liquid under running water to fill a sink or bathtub, and give your dog a bath in the soapy solution. Work the lather into your pet's coat and let it soak for more than 5 minutes. The soap penetrates the exoskeletons of fleas, killing them, and works more effectively than some prescribed flea shampoos. PROTECT FROM SUN'S RAYS: Spring is around the corner and if any indication from previous years, it will be a hot one with the Sun blazing full steam ahead. Use Coppertone Water Babies Sunscreen Lotion. If your dog spends time outside, prevent sunburn on his nose, ears, and other vulnerable areas by applying a light coat of Coopertone sunscreen (with an SPF of 15 or higher). Feed your dog his favorite treat immediately after to distract him from licking off the lotion. Make sure the sunscreen you use on your dog doesn't contain any PABA, zinc, or zinc oxide, which can be dangerous when licked. PREVENT EAR INFECTION: To all the floppy earred dogs out there, try Johnson's Baby Oil. Too much water in your dog's ears can lead to painful earaches, so before giving him a bath, place a cotton ball moistened with Johnson's baby Oil in each of your pet's ears to keep out water. Just be sure to remove the cotton balls afterward. KEEP FOOD BOWLS CLEAN! To keep food bowls clean, use PAM Cooking Spray. To prevent leftover bits and pieces of moist pet food from sticking to the bottom of your dog's food bowl, give the inside of the bowl a light coat of PAM Cooking Spray before filling the bowl with pet food. The vegetable oil will prevent the food from adhering to the bowl—and the oil gives your pet's coat a nice shine. DOGGIE ACHES & PAINS: For soothing relief of aches and pains, fill a sock with Uncle Ben's Rice (uncooked) to soothe arthritis pain. Tie a knot in the end, and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute. Place the warm sock directly over painful joints twice a day for 15 minutes. The reusable heating pad conforms wherever applied. MINIMIZE SHEDDING: Comb him everyday. Not only does it minimize shedding, it builds the bond between you and your doggie. Always check with your veterinarian as each dog's health is different. |
