Did you know that Vietnamese food is healthy? Well, I decided to try this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The address is 4136 #A Est Joppa Rd,Nottingham, MD 21236, phone # is 410 248 0678. The restaurant is adjacent to the Double T Diner. My first impression was very favorable. I walked in and was greeted with a smile by one of the workers. The place was very clean ad organized. Now if you never had Vietnamese, this is the place to try something. The most famous dish to order is called "PHO." Pho is a soup based meal with noodles and beef. The broth is slowed cooked with beef bones for hours for a delicious tasting beef soup. All natural, no preservatives, a little flavor to enhance the beef flavor. Rice noodles added, absolutely not overcooked, a little cilantro, fresh bean sprouts so crunch and delicious and jalepeno slices if you desire a little hotness, fresh herbal leaves to further enhance the flavor and finally delicious sliced beef or beef brisket, beef tendons. Add some Hoisin Sauce for a different dimension of flavor. It's just delicious. There are other dishes suitable for the warmer weather. Rice noodles with veggies, Vietnamese egg roll and/or ground marinated pork,or beef or seafood. You get to toss the salty sweet condiment sauce over the cold noodles. Steamed wonton filled with ground pork and sauteed with a dash of oyster sauce, thin soy sauce and sesame oil and fresh garlic. Crab Rangoon Wonton wrappers with a combination of cream cheese and lump crab meat and white pepper and worchestershire sauce and scallion deep fried. Wonton Soup Handmade wonton with shrimp and ground pork filling, water chestnuts, ginger and scallion. Seafood Egg Drop Soup Fresh baby shrimp, scallops, jumbo lump crab meat, carrots and peas in a smooth chicken broth with fresh ginger and garlic Kung Pao Chicken (or shrimp) Morsels of chicken breast or dark meat chicken sauteed with peppers, onion, bamboo shoots, water chestnut and baby corn stir fry with hoisin and oyster sauce and Sriracha hot chili sauce mixed with peanuts. Korean Short Rib (Kalbi) (Short ribs meat is very expensive but very delicious) Boneless short ribs marinated with special sauce, grilled over a butane portable stove with roasted garlic and jalepeno peppers with shredded scallion and bean sauce wrapped in iceberg lettuce. Young Chow (Brown Rice) Fried Rice (or aromatic jasmine white rice) Tasty roast pork, baby shrimp and chicken, eggs, onions, peas and carrots with light soy sauce and butter all combined with delicious brown rice and chopped scallion. (Brown rice is a healthy alternative than white rice; more fiber). Lettuce Wrap with Ground Chicken Delicious ground chicken with fresh garlic, water chestnuts, diced scallion and crushed peanuts and shittake mushrooms sauteed with hoisin sauce, shao shing wine and a dash of oyster sauce wrapped in iceberg lettuce leaf that is both healthy and tasty and aromatic cilantro. Steak Kew with Mixed Chinese Vegetables Morsels of tender beef steak sauteed with fresh garlic and ginger, baby corn, water chestnuts, snow pea pods, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushroom, and crispy bell peppers and onions. with a delicious brown sauce. Tofu with Fresh Roast Pork Delicious fresh roast pork sauteed with firm tofu oyster sauce, shao shing wine and diced scallions. Lobster or Crab with Ginger Scallion and Grlic Succulent morsels of lobster or tasty crabs sauteed with ground pork, black beans, scallion, ginger and garlic combined in a egg sauce, oyster and soy sauce, shao shing wine. It's finger licking good! Shrimp with Red Sauce (Not spicy) Jumbo shrimp with the shell on to retain more flavor sauteed with garlic, ketchup, shao shing wine, fish sauce, dash of sesame oil, sliced onions and diced scallion. Peeling the shrimp and tasting the sauce is the best part! Whole Sea Bass with fresh ginger, garlic and shredded scallion Fresh Sea Bass steamed delicately with light soy sauce, covered in shredded scallion with hot garlic oil and ginger poured on top! A simple and light dish. Goes well with aromatic jasmine rice and aromatic cilantro. Budha Delight (Vegetarian) Firm tofu, snow pea pods, shiitake mushroom, baby corn, water chestnuts and Chinese squash with peas and carrots and a delicious light sauce. Thai Panang Curry with Chicken (Don't be intimidated by curry) Thai Panang curry paste sauteed to release the aromatic herbs and spices, fish sauce, shao shing wine and fresh lemon grass, with baby corn, bamboo shoots and chicken thighs. Salt & Pepper Shrimp Delicious size 16-20 tiger shrimp with the shell on stir fry with chopped scallion and onion, salt and white pepper and minced crunchy garlic!, This dish is truly finger looking good! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Philippine Dishes (Filipino classes will be only Filipino dishes) Lumpia Delicious ground pork with slivers of carrots, onions marinated with soy sauce, a touch of vinegar, wrapped in a thin spring roll wrapper and pan fried. A sweet chili sauce is a great dipping sauce. Filipino Barbeque Pork Tender morsels of pork marinated with salt & pepper and brown sugar, fresh garlic, vinegar and soy sauce. Beef Menudo Morsels of beef, diced potatos, carrots, garbanzo peas, green peas and sliced peppers sauteed with tomato sauce a pinch of salt and pepper, soy sauce and a dash of vinegar. Pansit Bihon Thin rice noodles, shredded cabbage & carrots, chopped onions, fresh garlic, diced celery, shredded chicken, pork or shrimp with soy sauce and salt & pepper. Shrimp, Squash & Long Bean in Coconut Milk Delicious shrimp sauteed with squash and chopped long beans (string beans) mixed with coconut milk and slow simmered. Chicken Adobo With Pineapple Whole chicken cut up sauteed with fresh garlic salt & pepper and a dash of sugar, vinegar and soy sauce and allow to simmer until chicken is tender.
