Chef Woo Can You Can Too is an established virtual & cooking demonstration instructor specializing in Asian cuisine.
2. Where have you taught your classes?
Harford Community College (Harford County) , Cecil Community College (Cecil County) in MD
During Covid these classes have been conducted virtual.
3. What is my cooking background?
New York City Chinatown working for my Uncle's restaurant
4. Why did you decide to offer Asian cooking classes?
First I have a passion for cooking and I love to share my experience and introduce so many new ways of cooking and the many varieties of ingredients.
5.How are your classes offered?
Right now with Covid-19 we offer virtual demonstration classes for adults and kids. We are hopeful that by Summer Covid-19 will we have some sort of normalcy to offer actual cooking participation.
6. As a customer what is required for class?
If you choose demonstration right now, nothing is required but yourself and a pad. to chart down notes.
When normalcy returns you'll be able to participate in class cooking and enjoying the aroma of various flavors. You will help in preparation in various stations at the college and then watch as all ingredients and sauces are combined.
7. What type of dishes do you offer?
Popular Chinese American dishes and introduction of traditional home made dishes.
8. Where can I buy some of the ingredients used?
Wegman's:
Gai Lan (Chinese Broccoli), Yu Choy, Tofu, Sauces, Snow Pea pods (seasonal; Winter),
Great Wall Supermarket, Catonsville, MD:
Lots and lots of stuff, sauces, noodles, refrigerated items,pre-packages frozen goods, ramen noodles, canned and bottle goods, fresh roast duck, fresh soy sauce chicken, fresh vegetables and fruits
Shop Rite & Giant Foods has a good variety of Asian products. Giant Foods is owned by Koreans too.
9. What Brands should I look for?
Lee Kum Kee is a quality brand name for most ingredients Bottled in small glass jars that will last a long time. But if your looking for hot sauce especially Sririacha Hot Chili Sauce, stick with the original name Sriracha with the green cap. Sesame oil: Nagoya brand, Light soy sauce, so many varieties. Lee Kum Kee Dark Soy Sauce: Choose premium and Lee Kum Kee Hoisin sauce

11. Can I use or substitute other ingredients shown?
Yes, cooking is a creative trade. Recipes are a guide, its up to you to change flavors based on your taste buds along with other vegetables and degree of spiciness or hotness.
12. Are these virtual cooking classes and demonstration a hobby?
No, back in 9/2019, I decided that I wanted to be self-employed so
I filed a Limited Liability Corporation to do cooking classes but didn't get started until 12/2019 and had interest lined up doing in home cooking demonstrations and non profit organizations but was shut down due to Covid-19 Pandemic. So, I had applied to the community colleges continuing education programs virtual classes.
13. Do you use Zoom for virtual learning?
Yes, and the duration of time is 1 hour. Although I will be billed for 20 minutes since the 1st 40 minutes is free, I feel that 1 hour is enough to demonstrate 2 dishes and you won't feel rushed.
14. The kids participating class MUST be accompany by either the mother or father. Hands must be washed after touching ingredients and any cooking will be the responsibility of the mother, father or guardian. Most dishes will require very little cooking. (Waiver will be rwquired)

Chef Woo Can You Can Too is the catchy brand name but the meaning is significant especially during these difficult times. Whether we have been laid off, hours cut most of us have some natural talents we have but often times goes unnoticed. Look into yourself, take the initiative, focus and no excuses and just do it! So, if Chef Woo Can do it, then you can too!
