La Torteca Mexican Restaurant (During Covid-19 Pandemic)

As a restaurant critic prior to Covid-19 I used to go to all types of restaurant to review their food first and foremost, considered the atmosphere and cleanliness and rated the service provided and how professional they are. Then Covid-19 happened and not knowing what to believe I've taken the side of caution and stayed away from indoor dining. However, I did got to the pick up window at fast food restaurants. Restaurant gradually opened up indoor dining. Don't get me wrong, I proceeded with caution and I met a friend during non peak lunch at La Tolteca in Bel Air, MD. Although they had outside seating, the weather was on the verge of showers, so we went inside and I have to say I was a little nervous but safeguards were followed. Wear a mask before eating, our waiter was wearing a mask and the menu was based on a UPC code on each table so by scanning the UPC code, the menu showed up on our phones. Pretty cool.
I ordered a combination of 1 chicken enchilada, beef taco, refried beans and yellow rice. I guess for 2 people it might have been silly to sit to the side opposite my friend, so when we spoke I didn't talk directly in front of him while I was eating. The table was clean and the waiter was professional. My food was hot and delicious. There was true flavor with the chicken enchilada and the beef taco was a soft tortilla loaded and over flowing with beef.
I haven't had fresh fried tortilla chips in a long time with homemade salsa, so much better and delicious.
The waiters and waitresses are really taking risks working all day indoors and really deserve our consideration.

So, my rating for La Torteca Mexican restaurant during the Pandemic is a "5" on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being excellent. I would have liked to sit outside but dining inside during off peak hours wasn't so bad.
