If your like me, you probably love the cooking shows, but to be honest its becoming to commercialized. Every celebrity on the show has a cookbook published. Now when I go to the bookstore, the majority of the rack is filled with these commercialized cookbooks. Each cookbook has beautiful pictures of the dish so perfect.
They use ingredients that may not be readily available in our local supermarket just for the sake of keeping the dish authentic. Now don't get me wrong, I love authentic but I have to travel a ways to get authentic ingredients but that's me. Every show seems like its a contest, I feel cooking should be relaxing. why be competitive, just more stress and pressure. I'm sure it does rub off on us viewing the program. We're nervous, don't know where to start, reading instructions while food is cooking, and even more stress hoping that the dish will turn out like the picture in the cookbook. What the heck! Just seeing the final dish? How about the aroma and taste!!!!!! My goal of having cooking classes being hosted by someone, creates a relaxed atmosphere, no stress, enjoy the company, appreciate the aroma, the dish is inviting and the taste is delicious. Cooking uses the 3 senses, is there any other way! Before I forget, the food selection tab has been corrected. Now its rasier to read. So, if you live in Maryland, Chef Woo Can teach you how to stir fry and he knows YOU CAN TOO! |
