Senior Discounts? Really?

SENIOR DISCOUNTS? FREE COFFEE? We're better than that.

I get it. Lots of money is flying around Washington used as a monetary persuasion for special interest groups to appease constituents and multinationals. And yes, right now we need to address the Pandemic which has affected everyone in some way or another. We got bills and to pay. Kudos to those companies that have given some grace time to pay and whether exeutive orders in place to help the common man, it is appreciated.
Unfortunately, our senior citizens are having the most difficult time. Living in nursing homes on government assistance where Covid-has decimated them. What can they really do?
Let's see, they worked their entire life building and contributing to America. They are the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country during war, the Great Depression. 
This story should affect everyone who's reading this because our parents, grand parents and great grand parents contributed to our country to what it is today.
Realistically, we owe our Senior citizens a break. Many of our Seniors didn't have the opportunity to sve a nest egg so they relied on government assistance. Yes, they realize that they couldn't rely on government assistance solely. But sometimes, they just had to live to get by. 
So, today how is private industry helping them? I see Senior citizens at retail fst food when there are specials taking their time eating a high calorie not necessarily healthy but filling.
I flip through the paper to see what Seniors are entitled to. Yep, a cup of FREE COFFEE, FREE COFFEE!. They gave so much and all they get is a cup of FREE COFFEE. Here's my take, eliminate the menus that are sectioned off for Seniors. I find that kind of degrading, once you divide a population whether based on age is sort of ostracized from society. We should treat them as regular customers and if they have dietary concerns, then do the same as if a regular customer has a special request and give the Senior meal a FREE MEAL!
With the millions of dollars that the fast food industry is making prior to Covid-19, I don't think they will go broke.

They deserve to be treated special and I would believe that mostly everyone agrees.
