Not a good time to dine out!

It's difficult after a long day at work to put together some semblance of a healthy meal, so why not get a quick bite at a fast food joint or family fast food. I am not an advocate of either
one of them. However, from a freshness standpoint, in my opinion fast food is the better of the 2 evils. yes, I considered all the fat, salt and calorie intake but most important, its the high turnover of the food. And you have  choice to choose a healthy alternative rather than a burger or chicken sandwich.
The worst thing for a small business owner is no traffic of customers. The food just sits in the refrigerator, and you can only imagine that the owner will not throw old items out. To him that money being thrown away. And believe it or not, he would rather serve the bad ingredient and collect the monies versus throwing it away. Let's see, is that a good business decision? or why is there no traffic,is it because customers have gotten ill eating old food items and getting sick?
Are there too many items on the menu? is there a stench in the air that turns off the customer, when was the last time the dining room got a good cleaning? How come the waitress service is so unprofessional? But do me one favor, don't blame the economy.
At least fast food companies are very hands on with hospitality training, standard operating procedures enforced but cleanliness always seems to be a disaster. Why would any customer enter a fast food establishment when tables are dirty, food on floor. The excuse i hear is when we close, all will be cleaned up? Where are the inspectors for the companies?
I have to say there are some fast foods that do a good job but others I shake my head. Most fast food companies have been in business for decades, why is there still a problem with cleanliness and hospitality. Do they care?
They have the brand name, the product but we tend to cringe when we have to walk in and the place is a mess, smelly, garbage all over. How many times have they rinsed the rag to clean tables?
