Kohr's Custard ice Cream of Ocean City, NJ
Tradition, that is Kohr's Custard ice cream. Why custard. Well, the ice cream is made with eggs giving it a very smooth ice cream. Kohr's custard is a mainstay of the Jersey Shore. Back in the late 60's to early 70"s , they were located in Asbury Park, NJ and moved after Asbury started to deteriorate. I think they re in Point Plesant although not exactly sure but most prominent in Ocean City, NJ. They are all over the boardwalk. So, after a fun day spent at the beach building up your hunger and having a delicious dinner, what best to end a otherwise perfect evening then to have a nice ice cream custard at Kohr's Custard and going to the amusement park and arcade.
Kohr's was my first introduction to custard ice cream. I fell in love with the flavor and texture. Rita's comes close to offering custard but its just not the same. As a matter of fact Ritas taste too commercial.
Kohr's is the best in my book, so I recommend it highly.
