Mama Rosa's Filipino Rotisserie & Grill

This place has been highly recommended from all my Filipino friends. It was my pleasure  ro finally visit this one of a kind joint. I was looking forward to tasting the fried pork belly with garlic fried rice. I am a pork belly fan and I'm always on the lookout trying different dishes with pork belly.
The place is considered authentic Filipino food, grilled barbeque and sizzling platters.
The place is located at 836 Middle River Rd, Middle River, MD 21220 at 443 559 5900. The easy was is to take 43 South and follow it to Middle River Rd. Hours opened: Sunday 7:30 AM-9 PM, Monday: 4PM- 9 PM and Tuesday- Saturday 7:30 AM- 9 PM

It's a small deli type operation with freshly made food sitting in steam pots behind a glass enclosure. Against the wall there is a buffet of tropical drinks. I love the tall can of Coconut juice with bits of white coconut in the drink. On another wall there are all type of Asian snacks and fresh vegetables.

On the cutting board in front of the counter was fresh fried pork belly. I ordered the special which comes with fried pork belly (about 1/2 plate) and the other half is garlic fried rice. You also get a small cup of a pickled vegetable and a bone marrow soup. I have to say from a value standpoint it was simply delicious and all this for $ 8.99m a great bargain. Along with the pork belly is a special all purpose dipping sauce.
Tried a side order of pork belly with a red shrimp paste sauce. What makes all their pork belly delicious is the fat. Just lean pork makes it tougher.
Although I did not have the opportunity to try the other dishes shown, you can be assured that the food turnover is pretty fast so the freshness is best.

RECOMMENDATION: Excellent.
If you are used to lean meats, it may be a big adjustment but take it from Chef Woo Can. pork fat makes the meat more tender and savory. A great value luncheon.

Saturday & Sunday they have a buffet type luncheon and I've been told its very busy. So if you have the time and patience, then give it a try! You'll be glad you did.
