While on vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos, PA, we decided to go to a Japanese Restaurant called Desaki's in Stillwater, PA, minutes from our resort. I didn't know what to expect but boy was I glad I visited this fabulous place. From the outside it looks like a typical single standing restaurant, well kept and the entrance we were greeted with an authentic rickshaw.
Walked inside and was greeted by the hostess with a smile welcoming us to Desaki's. We choose the Hibachi grill. There was a beautiful view outside and we actually saw deers. The first thing I noticed was the huge ventilation system above the cooking area. These ventilation systems must be powerful enough to suck up the smoke and smells from cooking the food. I have to say the fan system was impeccably clean. A sign that management is well aware of cleanliness. Case in point, my wife and daughter came back from the lades room and it was impeccably clean. The staff was friendly and the chef's were equally funny and entertaining. The menu selection was impressive. I decided to try the shrimp wrapped in bacon and it was delicious. The shrimp wasn't overcooked. The soup was fresh and delicious. Not too salty and not to bland. I choose for my an course the saltwater scallops, of course the hibachi meal came with home made fried rice, noodles, and a vegetable medley of zuchini, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli and onions. Great Value. Sometimes Hibachi places that I've been to the tables are greasy and there is a stench of oily grease in the air. Not the case with Desaki's. Well worth the drive, good value, fresh food and lots of style. Food was prepared perfectly, not too salty, a nice even split of flavor. For you love birds, its a place to have a romantic dinner! RATING: Excellent, highly recommended 5 stars! out of 5 stars. Other views of restaurants can be found at www.chefwoocan.com |
