I am truly amazed that the best that fast food or family style fast food restaurant or even the small business eatery is offering basically nothing new to our taste buds!
All the food taste the same. It's frustrating. No matter how many hamburger chains there are, maybe one or two that standout from the rest in terms of actual tasty beef flavor. Is it how the hamburger is seasoned with lots of salt preservatives and tenderizers, or is it the very salty cheese with lettuce tomato and onion with lots of bacon to disguise the lack of flavor on the hamburger meat? That is the question.
It seems pretty evident that to make a hamburger requires a semblance of a beef patty, whether is a "select cut", the cheapest unflavorful type of beef and therefore the cheapest. The more natural flavor the more expensive it is. The natural flavor is coming from the amount of marbling (fat lines) in the beef. That is the hail Mary of a good grade of flavorful ground beef.
Food corporations are only concerned with making profit. Whatever they do to the meat, as long as it taste good, they are banking that the American consumer will love it and therefore sales will sky rocket. The second major concern is how quickly can they put a delicious burger together in the shortest time span. Ok Ray Kroc of McDonald's perfected the system but NOW, the American consumer is looking for the basic home made hamburger done the old fashion way. it may take a little longer but be rest assured the quality of the ingredients is the best. Would you pay a little more? We do that right now at some hamburger joints?
We deserve better but as long as we have advance in food technology, what new additives or preservatives are being added to make that juicy hamburger so artificially delicious.
