If ever there was a true indicator of how our economy is doing, I can tell you its the eating establishments specifically Chinese restaurants that are taking a hit. This last weekend, I took my family to Chop Stix in Rosedale, MD off of 65th street. This place caters to the traditional dim sum (Chinese tapas) and Chinese American and authentic Chinese cuisine.
We went there for lunch and I ordered the typical Chicken with Pan fried Noodles. The dish should come with mushrooms, bean sprouts and Chinese green vegetables. What we got was a dish full of onions stir fried with a chicken broth gravy over semi crispy noodles.
Economic times are tough right now and for a Chinese Restaurant as good as Chop Stix is, they are cutting back on the ingredients.
